About IT-1


Since its establishment in 1994 as a consultancy to the mining and primary industries, IT-1 Pty Ltd has successfully completed over one hundred projects. IT-1 has worked on projects for BHP Billiton, Blue Scope Steel, One Steel, ALCOA, Babcock & Brown Power, Smorgan and Adelaide Brighton Cement.

IT-1's primary goal is to respond to industry requirements in modern production and environmental issues through innovative science and the practical experience of IT-1's networking team.

  • Gordonstone Coal Project: Conducted specialised design and analysis tasks such as bin design, thickener design and dynamic analysis of the coal preparation plant. Vibration studies were undertaken on the drift conveyor and 1,000 t bin feeder.
  • Callide Coal Mine: Check of conveyor gantries and dynamic analysis of crusher station. BHP Goonyella: Analysis of 50 m gantry for lifting and trestle replacement.
  • Wirralee Gold Mine: Dynamic analysis and design of modifications to crusher support frame.
  • Weipa Bauxite: On-site monitoring and dynamic analysis of calcination kiln prior to kiln upgrade.
  • Curragh Queensland Mining: Dynamic audit of wash plant extension.
  • BHP Goonyella: Design of isolation system for vibrating monorails.
  • Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal: Structural design audit of reclaimer to stacker/reclaimer conversion. Machine capacity 5000 t/hr.
  • South Blackwater Coal Mine: Structural audit of 1000 t ROM bin including super structure and support structure.
  • Comalco Bauxite Mine at Weipa: Structural design audit of new stacker.
  • Collinsville Coal Mine: Condition assessment and structural audit of the existing coal preparation plant.
  • BHP Long Products Division, Whyalla: Finite element stress analysis of horizontal and vertical chucks in Rolling Mill, including analysis of strain gauging results.
  • ICI Australia: Ammonium nitrate bulk store and control centre - structural design and dynamic analysis.
  • Franklins Richlands Warehouse: Investigation and report on damage to 20,000 sq.m prestressed floor slab; documentation of repairs and supervision.
  • Boyne Island Smelter: Dynamic analysis of parts of the torbed plant. Dynamic analysis of chimney stack.
  • Boyne Island Smelter Expansion: Optimisation study of Potline Building. Kanowna Bell, WA: Supervised non-linear analysis of 150 m tall guyed stack structure. Queensland Nickel Berth 2 redevelopment at Port of Townsville.
